Running from 30 September 2017 to 14 January 2018, the main exhibition welcomes more than 75 artists from around the world. The title of this edition of the Thessaloniki Biennale is ‘Imagined Homes’, a concept that also stands as its general thematic framework, one which focuses on immigration issues as a starting point while simultaneously concentrating on the fluidity and constant redefinition of home as a concept. As a sign of support and solidarity, this edition chose to incorporate a segment of the 5th Canakkale Biennial, which was cancelled last year. That biennial had the similarly-titled theme of ‘Homeland’. Halil Altındere, Ahmet Elhan and Reysi Kamhi from Turkey participate in the biennial.
